PETALING JAYA: The matriarch of the renowned Yeoh family, Madam Ng Kim Sik, passed away peacefully at her home in Jalan Tanjong Keramat, Kuala Selangor, yesterday. She was 96.?
Ng, who hailed from Fujian Province in China, was the wife of the late Yeoh Cheng Liam.?
She is survived by sons Yeoh Tiong Seng, Tan Sri Dato' Seri (Dr.) Yeoh Tiong Lay and Dr Peter Yeoh Tiong Yong, and daughters Yeoh Poh Choo, Yeoh Poo Yok and Yeoh Poh Lian.?
Among her well-known grandchildren are Tan Sri (Dr.) Francis Yeoh, who is the managing director of YTL Corp Bhd and his brothers Datuk Yeoh Seok Kian, Datuk Yeoh Seok Hong, Datuk Michael Yeoh and Datuk Mark Yeoh.
According to Francis, his grandmother has always been very caring and beautiful in spirit.?
“She always placed other people’s welfare before her own and would visit all her grandchildren and great grandchildren on a systematic schedule without fail?
“We had wanted to throw her a grand party for her 96th birthday in August that was to be attended by 700 descendants of the Yeoh lineage from Malaysia and overseas, including China.?
“But she requested to postpone it until she could walk again, having just recovered from an illness,” he added.?
The cortege will leave from 96, Jalan Tanjong Keramat, Kuala Selangor, at 11am on Sunday to Old Hokkien Cemetery, Jalan Meru, Klang. ?
