YTL Cement acquires a further 32.74% stake in Perak-Hanjoong Simen - 5 November 2004 5:11:32 PM

YTL Cement Berhad (YTL Cement) has announced that it had entered into a sale and purchase agreement to acquire a further 32.74% stake in Perak-Hanjoong Simen Sdn Bhd (Perak-Hanjoong) for a total cash consideration of RM109.7 million (US$28.87 million) from Danaharta Managers Sdn Bhd. Upon completion of these acquisitions, Perak-Hanjoong will become a 64.84% subsidiary of YTL Cement and this will enable YTL Cement to consolidate the earnings and control the management and operations of Perak-Hanjoong. YTL e-Solutions Berhad (YTLe) has announced a proposal to list an incubatee on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange (LSE). YTLe announced its proposal to list a UK-incorporated subsidiary to undertake its narrowcast advertising business. Matriarch of Yeoh family passes away at 96 - 13 October 2004 9:55:31 AM

The matriarch of the renowned Yeoh family, Madam Ng Kim Sik, passed away peacefully at the age of 96. She is survived by sons Yeoh Tiong Seng, Tan Sri Dato' Seri (Dr.) Yeoh Tiong Lay and Dr Peter Yeoh Tiong Yong, and daughters Yeoh Poh Choo, Yeoh Poo Yok and Yeoh Poh Lian. Among her well-known grandchildren are Tan Sri (Dr.) Francis Yeoh, who is the managing director of YTL Corp Bhd and his brothers Datuk Yeoh Seok Kian, Datuk Yeoh Seok Hong, Datuk Michael Yeoh and Datuk Mark Yeoh. As a mark of respect for the late Madam Ng, all YTL offices and sites will closed on Saturday, 16 October. [more...]

The proposed acquisition by YTL Cement Berhad of 107,500,000 ordinary shares of RM1.00 each representing 32.10% equity interest in Perak-Hanjoong Simen Sdn Bhd from Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co.
