In a recent research conducted by Frost & Sullivan Energy & Power Supplies Research team, YTL Corporation Berhad emerged as Green Energy Company of the Year and was awarded at the 2010 Malaysia Excellence Awards.
The Frost & Sullivan Green Excellence Awards are presented to companies that have excelled in green product and technology innovation, and service achievements. The Awards recognise groundbreaking ideation and innovation across a multitude of disciplines that originated from a firm sense of environmental responsibility.
The Green Energy Company of the Year Award was conferred to YTL Corporation Berhad in recognition of itís significant progress in enhancing the long-term sustainability and managing the environmental impact of its operations.
This has resulted in measurable improvement in the company's overall environmental performance within its industry sector, which in turn contributed to the development of best practices for the entire industry in Malaysia. This includes a significant thrust on producing green innovations in its products and processes.
The Green Energy Company Award signifies YTL Corpís keen awareness to the value of corporate social responsibility in todayís increasingly "green" focused business environment, and the importance of being a good corporate citizen.
Moreover, this award also recognises that the company has successfully fostered sustainable practices across all global centers that it operates from, while maintaining its financial strength. The award also acknowledges YTL Corpís efforts to reduce the impact of climate change and overall ecological footprint.
