Caring for the environment through art
- New Straits Times
Following the success of its first art class, National Geographic Store will be organising art classes every month. Conducted by Euvince Chen Pey Wen, these one-hour classes are open to children between the ages of 4 and 7. This initiative is in line with the store's effort to educate children about the environment as well as to promote creativity. National Geographic's retail store is the perfect environment for educating children as it offers many different learning materials, resources and tools.
"All of us grew up watching or reading National Geographic magazines, so it is only natural that the National Geographic Store organises children-centric activities," said Tan Sri Francis Yeoh, managing director of YTL Corporation Bhd.
"We aim to inspire children to care about the planet, the people, and the animals on it. Sessions such as the one we had at the end of last year has helped us to further strengthen our resolve in being stewards of the planet."
