Moral Responsibility Gallery

Welcome to the Moral Responsibility Gallery.

07

This gallery is designed as a garden, where you can relax, reflect, and even pray.

  • Tan Sri Yeoh’s life and work embodied stewardship, generosity, and service. He believed that what we have is entrusted to us, not owned.
  • These principles continue to guide his family today in how they honour God and serve the community.
  • There are also acrylic stumps around the gallery. They have quotes by different individuals on how Moral Responsibility is lived out throughout YTL.

At this corner of the gallery, you will see The Well.

  • The parable of The Well mirrors YTL’s journey and the value of moral responsibility that has shaped the Group since its founding.
  • Let me give you a summary of this parable:
    • A man decides to dig a well. The villagers are baffled as there are already other wells around, but the man insists that a deeper well is needed which will not run dry.
    • True enough, a drought comes, and the man’s perseverance and hard work pays off. The well was able to sustain the villagers where all the other wells dried up.
  • Like the man who chose to dig a deeper well, YTL believes that doing the right thing often requires sacrifice, patience, and foresight. It may not bring immediate recognition, but when trials come, it endures, sustains and gives life.
  • It reflects YTL’s ethos of Building The Right Thing – work that lasts, sustains, and serves.

And just before you leave this gallery, we invite you to add your reflection on the peg wall.

  • The question to reflect upon is: How will you steward what has been entrusted to you?
  • You can write a thought, a hope or a prayer.

Once you’re ready, we will proceed to the Founder’s Lounge. Please mind your step.
