More often than not, the focus on recognition for CSR excellence has not been sufficient. It must be remembered that private sector companies are the driving force of the nation’s economy and they are well placed to carry out meaningful and significant CSR activities. Receiving the CSR Malaysia Awards from Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri Dr. Wan Azizah binti Wan Ismail, Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Women, Family and Community Development was very relevant and appropriate as the Government and the Ministry will be able to take note of the individuals and corporations that champion Social Responsibility initiatives. Also present at the event was the CSR Malaysia’s Chairman Dato’ R. Rajendran and its Co-Chairman/Managing Editor Lee Seng Chee.

Corporate Malaysia’s aspirations go beyond mere profits or building world class buildings or infrastructures. These caring organizations promote sustainable economies by helping marginalized communities and making environmental efforts to preserve our heritage for future generations. The event not only celebrated the CSR achievements of these outstanding corporations but also served as a source of inspiration for other corporations to emulate them.

CSR Malaysia Awards 2018 was organized by ‘CSR Malaysia’ magazine, a free publication that shares the unwavering commitment of corporations in Malaysia with a vision and mission to create awareness on the growing need to lend a helping hand to make the world a better place for all. The event, which was attended by some 450 corporate personalities and foreign dignitaries, was supported by Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.
