#YTLBiggie is a platform for YTL employees to submit their sustainable ideas, wherein ideas that are practical and aligned with sustainability concepts will be applied. YTL Biggie competition is held annually and prizes are awarded to the top three extraordinary ideas.

Adopting the "Save a Tree, Plant a Tree" idea from #YTLBiggie 2017 Winner, Phil Bakerian, Wessex Water introduced e-billing system wherein trees will be planted whenever customers sign up for e-billing, as part of the company’s efforts to offset paper billing. This year they made a donation of GBP 5,500 to Woodland Trust.

The tree planting effort is facilitated through partnership with Woodland Trust, the UK's leading woodland conservation charity. The Woodland Trust's vision is a UK rich in native woodlands and trees, for people and wildlife. It has over 500,000 members and supporters, and more than 1,000 sites, covering over 26,000 hectares, all over the UK.

This also serves as a volunteering opportunity for their staff as part of their larger community programme called Water Force which has led to a group of Wessex Water Force volunteers helping to restore the riverside habitat in Wilsford, Wiltshire. The work involved the planting of hundreds of trees which help the nearby river to cool and mediate the right temperature range for fish and reptiles. The project will also prevent floods by slowing down the return of water back into the river.
